Admission criteria for Masters degree in Engineering

Except for MIS, others are intensively academic courses with a lot of emphases placed on grades. GPA is of paramount importance to most universities for CS and EE courses through the stress they place on it varies from one university to another.

UT Dallas, for example, has a strong focus on GPA whereas at SUNY Buffalo stellar GRE and TOFEL can offset a mildly weak GPA.

English Language tests such as TOEFL mostly act as negative filters which can eliminate you if you have low scores but don’t really get you an admit.

Do I need a GRE score?

1. Mostly, GRE test score is compulsory for Masters in Engineering. It may be waived off for candidates who are going to peruse for Master’s degree in the same university after bachelor’s degree.

2. Alternatively, valid TOEFL or IELTS score for English proficiency assurance is required.
